Aveda runway show for charity 12-10-10

my experiences on my first runway show as a designer. its chaos.  I think having other people style your models is a big no unless you know who they are. Don't trust ANYONE!
I got to the runway prep late, because I had to work, got stuck in traffic and so on. big mess. My models that I brought in didn't end up in the right outfits, they didn't even end up in MY outfits. it was a mess. so when I got there, I had to fix that issue. as well as get ready as a model myself. even more chaos.  I think if I had got there on time, there wouldn't be as much of an issue with everything, getting ready, getting my models ready etc.

but in the end it all turned out.  the dress I modeled was not one of my own, bummer, because it was GORGEOUS I loved everything about it.

the hair and make up was awesome, the models were awesome, and the chaos cleared to put on an awesome show.

In the future, I need to be preped before the chaos happens if I'm going to model and design for a show. that's just how it has to be.

Bustled Red Dress Preview

Bustled red jersey dress.

Its gorgeous, fits great, and looks amazing. the front like my original red dress has a circle opening for cleavage and chinese collar neckline.

debuting in a charity fashion show on the 10th this month.

Army dress commission

Army Mermaid Dress commission: I was taking measurements of a model at a coffee shop here locally and a Lady there jumped up and asked if I could make her a dress. we talked about design and cost.

now obviously I don't have the right size mannequin for the dress, at 6' with a perfectly beautiful plus size hourglass figure its really a pleasure to try something new.  (a few years younger she could be a gorgeous plus size model)
 However, Its not done yet. :(  She doesn't like the bottom and wants the flower to be bigger.
I like it how it is personally, and intend to make a reproduction for sale at the local boutiques or online. its really a very cool dress. made up of heavy camo material, the fish net is real as well and also heavy, and the flower is made up of camo netting. with a vintage gold chain center. and fish net behind it.
I spent HOURS just on distressing the material by hand. its not easy making new camo look vintage let me tell you.

 (length in the fashion show is shorter than actual length, length can be adjusted to height of each person)

Even now it can still be tweaked a little bit but it looks pretty damn good.  remember the original sketch? What do you think? I'd say its pretty close.
